About

I’m a mom, partner, healer, teacher, writer, dancer and business owner.  I live in Portland, OR with my two kids, partner, two cats and two chickens (they live outside).  I spent most of my life afraid to use my voice.  I hid behind my mother’s skirt as a child.  It’s why dancing worked so perfectly for me.  I let my body say what I desperately feared voicing.  It felt safe.  But I’m all grown up now, and I realize there’s power in clarity of words.  And I have a great deal of clarity.  I’m no longer scared of my own voice.  I’ve nothing to lose in putting my words out–and everything to gain.  I’m glad you’re listening.

You make your kids live outside? You’re a hardcore mom.

I just wanted to say how beautiful your writing is. I feel like an idiot when I read haikus sometimes because I don’t “get” them, but the bridges you make between your ideas seem to make more sense to me and makes me feel safer as I cross that leap from one idea to the next. Makes me happy when I make it safely to the other side! Love your work. 🙂

thank you– that’s really an incredible compliment you’re paying me– the funny thing is i was just sitting and writing a haiku and thinking– i think i’m kind of bastardizing the japanese standard– by allowing my thoughts or images to flow past single lines– but i think that’s okay. it’s okay with me anyway, and now it seems you’re confirming it’s okay with you– so there’s at least two of us– which seems good to me. i really love your work as well and am so glad you found me– so that i could find you. i believe we may be kindred spirits.

Sorry for the late follow. I had your blog left open in a tab and refreshed the page every now and then, and then I realized, that’s what the “follow” button is for lol. 🙂
